Samantha Bee is a Canadian comedy actress who was born and bought up in Toronto. She learned acting at George Brown Theatre School in Toronto and also attended the University of Ottawa besides studying science at McGill University in Montreal. She worked as a waitress for five years while at the same time doing some theatre work and the odd commercial. She was part of the comedy-sketch troupe Catch 21 and later formed the Toronto sketch comedy group named The Atomic Fireballs along with three other women. In 2001 she married fellow correspondent Jason Jones with whom she has two children named Piper Bee-Jones and Fletcher Jones.
Samantha has worked in nearly ten television shows and five movies besides writing and producing a television series. Her shows on television include Ham I Am, Jasper, Texas, Odd Job Jack, Two Families, Love Monkey, Rescue Me and Little Mosque on the Prairie etc., besides appearing as herself on The Daily Show and many others. She has also worked in the movies Ham & Cheese, Underdog, The Love Guru, Cooper’s Camera and Motherhood. In addition she has also written and produced the television show Not This But This. Samantha has also been nominated for the Canadian Comedy Award of Film – Pretty Funny Performance – Female for her role in Ham & Cheese while she has won the Canadian Comedy Award of Television – Pretty Funny Female Performance for her role in The Daily Show. Currently she is developing a sitcom based on a celebrity chef along with her husband Jason.
Role In The Daily Show

In The Daily Show, she is the senior White House correspondent. She joined the show in 2003 and was the first non US citizen to join the show. Over the years she has demonstrated an ability to coax people into caricaturing themselves.
