John Oliver is an English comedian and writer. He attended the Mark Rutherford Upper School in Bedford, England and went on to study English at Cambridge University. He was the vice president of the Cambridge Footlights and is a huge fan of English Association Football Club, Liverpool.
Oliver has done various shows on television but is best known for his role in The Daily Show. He acted in the shows My Hero, People Like Us and Green Wing besides appearing as himself on shows like Britain’s Finest, 28 Acts in 28 Minutes, Mock The Week, Late Night With Conan O’Brien and John Oliver: Terrifying Times etc. He has also worked in the movie The Love Guru besides writing for the shows Movie Babylon, 2004: The Stupid Version, The Late Edition, The Daily Show and John Oliver Terrifying Times which he has also produced. Oliver has been nominated for an Emmy Award and a Writers Guild of America Award for his work in The Daily Show.

In The Daily Show John Oliver is the Senior British Correspondent. He joined the show in 2006 and has in many ways become the show’s new lead correspondent following the footsteps of leaders of the past like Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and Rob Corddry. He started writing for the show in March 2007.
