Aasif Mandvi is an Indian actor who was born in a Muslim family in Mumbai but was bought up in Bradford, England. When Aasif was sixteen years old his family shifted to Tampa, Florida. He studied theatre at the University of South Florida and after completing his studies worked as a performer at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World. He later moved to New York where he started working in off-Broadway productions.

Aasif has had an impressive acting career during which he worked in nearly twenty seven movies and twenty one television shows besides appearing in a handful of shows like The Daily Show where he appeared as himself as well as being the writer of 7th to the Place. His major television credits include Nash Bridges, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Sex and the City, Ed, Tanner and Tanner, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ER and Jericho etc. He has also worked in movies like Die Hard: With a Vengeance, Analyze This, American Chai, Spiderman 2, Freedomland, The Understudy, The Response, Ghost Town and The Proposal etc., with the last one currently going through post production.
