‘The daily show’ or ‘The Colbert Report’, what would US president prefer to?

Hello pals!

I know I have put the screws to an uneven question, but it’s the demand of time. So, following the requirement, lemme ask you once again, which one according to you would be favored by Obama, to appear on?  No doubt, its difficult to get through, but you must try at least.

Okay, stop whacking your brain, and just get to know what the White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs thinks in response to this question. A statement has recently made by him pointing, that President would love to appear on “The Daily Show,” but he gives bump to Comedy Central opposite number “Colbert Report.”

Well, you all can obviously judge the reason behind this issue, as you are a regular viewer of The Daily show episodes. But, if still you need an explanation then lemme highlight the reasoning explained by Gibbs for avoiding Colbert. He said, “I have yet to see a politician best Stephen Colbert in an interview on his show. I mean, he’s really, really good.”

Well, if you flip some pages of history of both the shows, you will find that Obama has already made appearances at both of the stints, during his campaign for president. Michael Pollan conveys us to eat food

I think the folks who were confused and overwhelmed about their eating habits must have taken a sigh of relief with a new book of omnipresent author, Michael Pollan. Well, don’t you feel, it is astonishing that we are living in an era where we want to be told about what the heck to eat. Undoubtedly, it is champs.

Most of us are always found looking forward for someone to spoon feed them a direction by which they can analyze what they should eat and what they have to avoid. This dependency of folks has encouraged the authors to write books to let them understand the larger picture of our food system so as to secure one from various possible diseases.

In order to promote the same concept based book the renowned author Michael Pollan sat down with Jon Stewart at our much loved The Daily show episodes. After writing two books earlier, this is the third time the author has approached the heads with his 64 food rules. On being asked by the host about the 64 rules of eating described in his book, Food rules: the eater’s manual, Pollan replied in single statement i.e. EAT FOOD. On getting the wind of Pollan’s answer, Jim expressed a satisfactory smile.

I know some of you might have surprised by the title of blog post. But now you must be satisfied as it’s not only about eating food but about eating healthy food as per discussed by Michael Pollan with Jon Steward. The Daily Prophet, Jon Stewart- “A Flexible Personality”

Hey folks!

Since ten successful seasons, the incredibly remarkable personality Mr. Jon Stewart and The Daily show has been adding flavor to our nights. Trust me guys, his journey with the late night TV show The Daily Show has been extremely fantastic. He is such a genius that he makes us laugh at one moment and compels us to ponder over his words in the next moment. In the month of October, he welcomed different types of guests. Let’s have a talk about them.

On October 1st, Jon had a talk with Joy Behar. 67 years old, Joy is the co-host of the talk show “The View”. Besides hosting, she is an actress, an uproarious comedian and an excellent writer. Mr. Stewart welcomed her on the show warmly and had a wonderful conversation with her. She was promoting “The Joy Behar Show” on the late night show.

Then it was Sarah Vowell. Sarah is a journalist, humorist and a commentator as well. She appeared as a guest on October 5th. In the subsequent episode, Ray Mabus was the guest. Ray is the 75th United States Secretary of the Navy. He had been the governor of U.S. state of Mississippi from 1988 to 1992.

Then on October 7th, William Kamkwamba was the guest of The Daily Show. William is a school student and an inventor as well. He was promoting the book “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind “.

On October 8th, David Gregory made guest appearance. Davis is an American member of the press. He was promoting the TV show “Meet the Press”. The 3rd United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, made appearance on October 12th. Then on October 13th, Chesley Sullenberger, an American airline transport pilot, security specialist and accident examiner as well was seen on the show. On October 14th, feminist and democratic socialist Barbara Ehrenreich was the guest.

The comic actress, Susie Essman was the guest on October 26th and in the following episode, economist Steven Levitt was there. Then Palestinian democracy activist, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti was there as a guest on October 28th. And in the last episode of the month, Wanda Sykes guest appeared on the show. The Daily Show And Politics

On September 17th it was former US president Bill Clinton on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. The show’s host Mr. Jon Stewart very enthusiastically communicated with the ex- president.
But this is not the first time when this show had a political guest. President Clinton had appeared on this show previously as well. Last time he appeared September 23, 2008, September 20, 2007, September 18, 2006 and August 9th2004.

However, Mr. Bill Clinton is not the only political personality who had appeared on the show. The list of the political figures who had appeared on this show embraces Barack Obama in October 2008, ex-President Jimmy Carter, ex-Vice President Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, former Senators Joe Biden, Senators John McCain, John Kerry and the late Ted Kennedy, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Speaker of the House Representative Nancy Pelosi and Senator John Edwards.

Moreover, General Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan had also been on this show as Jon’s guest on September 26, 2006. Minister of France Christine Lagarde had also appeared on the show.

After all this, it seems as Mr. Jon Stewart has a special interest in talking to the politicians. Don’t think that only the above mention politicians were on the show, as there are lots more.

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Tony Blair (previous Prime Minister of Great Britain), Evo Morales (Bolivian President) and the former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox.

Oh my god!
I must say that the host of this show is very political. I have always been an appreciator of Mr. Stewart. His energy level boosts energy in me as well.
Gosh! I wish I can be as quick and sharp as he is.

You all will be surprised to know that about 1750 episodes of The Daily Show had been aired. I personally feel that this TV show is the best late night talk show one can ever watch.
Had I been asked to rate this show, I would have definitely given 10 out of 10.

The Daily Show Prophet Welcomes “The Time Traveler’s Wife”

On August 13th, The Daily Show prophet (Jon Stewart) welcomed the 30 years old, hot and sexy actress Rachel McAdams who has very recently appeared as the main lead in movie, The Time Traveler’s Wife.

She seemed to be full of positive energy and gorgeous as usual. Her appearance on the show was widely appreciated, as these days one can hardly find someone who dislikes Rachel. Her appearance wasn’t common but special, as the subsequent day her movie “The Time Traveler’s Wife” was scheduled to release. I guess it was a promotional appearance. And that appearance seems to be working as well, seeing that the movie is doing extremely well.

Most of the talk with the host of the show, Jon Stewart was about her upcoming movie. And she lost in the discussion so much that she even forgot that she shouldn’t disclose all about the movie as Rachel revealed the complete story of the movie.

She portrays the role of Clare Abshire who is the love interest of Henry DeTamble (portrayed by Eric Bana). This movie is about the love story of a waitress and a man who can travel time.

It was an amazing episode, I enjoyed it very much as Jon seemed to be very energetic being accompanied by such a sizzling beauty (no offense, was just kidding). Actually Jon is so humorous, funny and clever, he also seems to be fresh and enthusiastic. I must crack the secret of his daily diet.

Anyways, let’s come to a serious upcoming fact about the show. On the same day when Rachel appeared on the show, Jon announced the name of his super special guest that is scheduled to appear on the show in the next month.
He is the 52 years old ex-Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich. He is scheduled to appear on the show on September 24th .
I am sure that the episode featuring the ex-governor will be an interesting episode.

“Jon Stewart” a Daily Prophet

Hello friends! Do you also think that Mr. Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show is a prophet?
I know that you don’t think so but according to the Rev. Jim Wallis, founder of magazine Sojourners, Jon Stewart is a prophet. Wallis told Jon Stewart, “I think you are a little like a Hebrew prophet after all”.

Wallis said so as he believes that the Hebrew prophets often used humor, satire and truth telling to get their massage across and he feels that Jon Stewart does a combination of all three. He even asked Jon Stewart if he was trying to bring any social changes.

While replying to the question raised by Wallis, Jon Stewart said that all he said might be true in case of the Hebrew prophets and they might have used humor to bring social changes but Borscht Belt social directors also used it. He said, “We’ve got a lot more in common with them than the prophets”.

The Daily Show kicked off on July 21, 1996 for the first time. From then till December 1998, The Daily Show was hosted by Craig Kilborn. In January 1999, Jon Stewart took his place. After when Mr. Stewart become the host, he brought a lot of changes in the show. The Daily Show became more focused on politics and national media since then. With the change of host, the show earned huge success and fame.

“The Daily Show” Telecast from Iran will be sensational!

Hey, fans of the comedy talk show With Jon Stewart” get ready to view a brand new episode of your favorite The Daily  show. The making of the episode is currently in progress in Iran, yeah…the less cordial area. I must appreciate the daily slog of Jason Jones, a correspondent who is reporting from Iran for a week of dispatches titled, “Access of Evil.”

Jon Stewart, the most artistic host of the show, needs to be appreciated for bringing interesting humor to us. He strongly emphasizes on matters relating to politics and the national media, rather than focusing more on character-driven issues. He has been putting in sincere efforts to make people laugh by sometimes satirizing political figures and at the other times correspondents themselves make fun of Stewart straight man persona on a regular basis.

I would also like to share my personal liking about the show. Okay, I’ll let you people know, it’s the final segment which relishes me the most. The presence of renowned celebrities always fascinates me and experiences of hilarious situations with them are just amazing. I am sure everyone feels great to have their role models in front of their eyes on talk- shows like “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” or “The Colbert Report” etc.

Some Interesting Facts About The Daily Show

Hey friends! The Daily Show has been entertaining us for past many years and thanks to the wonderful comedian Jon Stewart, watching the show has become a ritual with us. So today I decided to tell you about some notable moments of the show.

Well, to start with, Jon Stewart has been hosting the show for nearly a decade now and after he took over from his predecessor Craig Kilborn in 1999, he made some major changes to the format of the show, which resulted in The Daily Show reaching new heights of success.

The most serious moment of the show was when the first episode was aired after the September 11, terrorist attacks. The episode that was aired on 20th September began without any introduction and for the first nine minutes of the show a teary eyed Jon Stewart commented on the fateful event. He ended his comments by explaining how the attacks had changed the view from the South of Manhattan and instead of the World Trade Center, people now saw the Statue of Liberty.

Another notable moment on The Daily show was when US Senator John McCain was confronted by Jon Stewart about his decision of making an appearance at the Liberty University that was founded by Jerry Falwell. Jerry Falwell had been earlier labeled by Senator McCain, as one of the agents of intolerance. Many people felt that Jon was able to get away with this confrontation because he has been a long time friend of Senator McCain.

More recently, one of the correspondents from The Daily Show, named Stephen Colbert, stunned everyone with his announcement about running for the presidential poll in 2008. While maintaining that he was quite serious about his decision, he announced that he planned to run for both the Republican and the Democratic nominations from South Carolina, his home state. However, he later dropped the plans to run as a Republican, after learning about the high filing fee.

Also the write up will be incomplete without the mention of the two Peabody Awards that the show received for covering the presidential elections in 2000 and 2004, which was named Indecision 2000 and Indecision 2004, respectively.

A Look At Rob Corddry’s Upcoming Flick

Hey friends! Recently while surfing the net I came across an exclusive first look video of Rob Corddry’s upcoming movie The Winning Season. The flick is a sports comedy and even though, Rob is not the leading man, still he has a vital role in the movie. The movie which follows the life of Coach Bill played by Sam Rockwell, a divorced man who is down on his luck and tries to make amends by coaching his local high school’s girls basketball team, has been included in 2009 Sundance Film Festival line-up. However the dates for the worldwide release of the movie have not been revealed as yet. The other cast members of the movie consists of Emma Roberts, Shareeka Epps and Emily Rios.

I remember the first time I saw Rob Corddry reporting about the effect of Michael Jackson’s trial on Michael Jackson impersonators on The Daily Show. He impressed me so much that I was really hooked to the show just to see and hear his reporting. It is another thing that I am still a huge fan of the show, even though the talented comedian is rarely seen on the show. Rob was hugely popular as the seriously comic correspondent on The Daily Show. He had his own special humorous way which endeared him to the audiences in a very short time. Many people were disappointed when he left the show in 2006 to pursue a film career. However he has since returned to the show on several occasions in the capacity of a special guest correspondent.

The show, which is quite popular for its satirical take on the latest news from each and every field, has been hugely appreciated for the talent of its correspondents. The correspondents bring humor to the show by bringing to the audiences experts with satirical senior titles as well as a host of field reporting segments which often includes humorous commentary and interviews relating to a current issue. The show has been successful in launching the careers of many with comedic talent and continues to give chance to many new comedians to showcase their talent.
